East Midlands businesses are being encouraged to join a tour of China’s transport hubs to identify business opportunities.
New China expert for the East Midlands and International Trade Adviser for UKTI, Jasmine Chambers, is leading the trip.
The market visit to China, from 26 to 30 November, is being run by UKTI East Midlands, in partnership with the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC).
It will visit Beijing, Xi’an and Chengdu, in a bid to help firms identify opportunities, make new contracts and find trading partners.
Firms who become involved could get expert help to research sales contacts in china, be provided with the latest market information from UKTI staff in China, and get financial support of up to £750 towards the visit.
Jasmine said: “This is a great opportunity for East Midlands’ firms, the automotive industry is booming; China has rapidly become the largest car market in the world and new energy vehicles are a top priority with plans to increase annual sales of new energy vehicles to 15 million by 2020.
“There are also huge opportunities in the rail sector as China is one of the world’s fastest-growing rail markets and one of the world’s fastest growing developers of urban rail.”
The deadline for firms to sign up is September 14.
