The Diamond Festival- Fabulous 50s Exhibition
Step back in time and enjoy an exhibition exploring everyday life in the 1950’s through a recreation of rooms, posters, adverts and objects. From design, fashion, music and toys to the Festival of Britain and the Queen’s Coronation - and all with a rock ‘n’ roll soundtrack!
As part of the Diamond Festival celebrations on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd June visitors can take a look at life in the 1950’s through vintage film footage, which will be showing on a big screen in the Baltic Suite at Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience.
Also on Saturday the fashion theme will continue with a look at casual clothing and work wear with fashion shows parading around the quayside, featuring costumes designed and made by talented students at Cleveland College of Art and Design.
On Sunday we focus on what entertained children in the 50’s, what kept them occupied in the school playground, during holidays and on special occasions.
See if you can spot Noddy wandering around… but remember to look closely… can you recognise anything, or anyone else!
