As part of Universities week, the Department of Computing, Engineering & Technology at the University are staging an event that will demonstrate the range of support available to help businesses to innovate.

Confirmed speakers to-date include:

• Bernie Callaghan, CEO of Sunderland Software City and founding Director of the Leighton Group of companies – who will highlight the ‘Issues affecting the North East’s software sector’
• Claire Harvey, Head of Archive at Aframe an online service for storing, finding and managing moving image media – who will discuss ‘Research in the real world’

At the event attendees will have the opportunity to :

• Find out how current research activity could make a difference to their business
• Discuss professional development needs
• Tour the Dept’s facilities, including the University’s ‘Grid’ super-computer and usability labs
• Discuss graduate placement and project schemes
