2011 Active Age Summit: Global Insight Local Impact
On Tuesday 7 June 2011 BusinessLab’s collaborative research programme, ActiveAge, will host a summit looking at the impact of ageing on social & economic policy, corporate insight, service planning, product design & assistive technologies.
As part of the Active Age Summit we are offering organisations the chance to participate in a workshop looking at the opportunities to develop businesses that deliver products and services for the emerging market created by an ageing society. This event is open to all organisations but will be of particular interest to Small to Medium Enterprises. Science City, Health Innovation and Education Cluster and Newcastle University Changing Age for Business will facilitate sessions looking at the market opportunity, business models and solution development. Currently the 50 plus market in the UK own 80% of the wealth, is responsible for 40% of consumer spend but attracts only in the region of 10% of marketing focus. The objective of this event is to help organisations understand the support Science City, HIEC and Newcastle University provide to help them address this emerging market, gain competitive edge and profit whilst improving people’s quality of life.
For more information or to book a place at the summit and the workshops, which will run from 2.00pm to 4.30pm, register online at www.activeage.org/book-now.
