Improve your Creative Business

Organisations in the region’s creative and cultural industries are being given the opportunity to attend a unique new event which could help them improve their business. ‘Improve your Creative Business’ is a free workshop hosted by Newcastle College at the Customs House in South Shields on Monday 7 June.

The event is open to employees, freelance professionals, business owners or new start ups in the creative and cultural industries.  The event programme includes high profile speakers, such as Antony Crerar from the R&B Group, David Haley from Comet Music Management, Peter Darrant from the Customs House and Carol Bell from NewcastleGateshead Initiative.

They will talk about how to improve your creative business, developing entrepreneurial skills and competencies and the importance of higher level skills in the workplace. Delegates will also have the opportunity through interactive workshops to discuss their ideas on creativity and innovation in business.

The event will also cover the new work-based Creative and Cultural Industries Foundation Degree that Newcastle College is now running. The course is delivered online using a variety of technologically-enhanced learning methods. It has been designed and developed in consultation with industry professionals for those who work in the creative and cultural industries.  The event is funded and supported by Newcastle College and One North East.   To secure a place download a registration form http://www.eiat.org/events.html or contact Janet Wilson, Event Co-ordinator on 01653 692883 or janet@eiat.org to request a registration form.
