Salary around £40,000 pa depending on experience

Taste North East is the region’s not for profit food and drink membership organisation. We work with businesses of all sizes and at every stage of the food supply chain from producers and manufacturers to food outlets, restaurants, retailers, pubs and hotels to help add value to what they do. Food is a vibrant sector of the North East’s economy. Our mission is to showcase just what the region has to offer by driving forward our heritage and provenance at a regional, national and international level.

 An opportunity has arisen for an outstanding individual to lead and drive the company forward.  Working closely with the Chair and Board, the Business Development Manager will have responsibility for all company matters, but will focus particularly on income opportunities.  There are a range of opportunities including membership, commercial, publicly funded and sponsorship sources, and the post holder will develop these and other opportunities.

 The new Manager will work with Taste North East’s private sector Board, associates and support team of two to ensure the sector and TNE itself enjoys a sustainable future.

 The ideal candidate will have some knowledge and/ or experience of the sector, and be expert at relationship building, income generation, and of managing a small business or business unit.  The role is based in the company’s offices in Hexham although flexible working arrangements will be considered.
