Mechanical Fitter
THE ROLE
- To ensure that plant and machinery are maintained correctly to ensure effective performance. To repair plant machinery in a timely manner to minimise mechanical down time
- To ensure that mechanical down time from whatever cause is kept to a minimum
- To work as a team with other engineering staff on shift and to give guidance, training and advice as required
- To work closely with Manufacturing Manager and Shift Supervisors to plan ahead with regards to machine changes, production changes etc
- To cover overtime as requested wherever possible for production, sickness, holidays etc
- To ensure that the engineering to stores are kept in a clean, tidy manageable condition for quick and easy operation
- To report in writing and impending stores shortages and requirements
- To ensure that weekly cleaning schedule for fitting shop is carried out when it falls to your shift
- To ensure the Health and Safety compliance at all times
- This list is not exhaustive and other duties may be added as necessary, through mutual agreement
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
- Fully qualified time served engineer
- Basic Health and Safety Certificate
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- Basic Electrical Skills
- Manual Handling

- Good Communication Skills
- Flexible
- Team Player
- Ability to work under pressure
SALARY AND BENEFITS
- Salary is £22-£24000 Per annum dependent on Experience
- 25 days holiday per year plus stats
HOURS OF WORK AND TYPE OF CONTRACT
- Continental shift rota
- Permanent Contract
