Techies prepare to ‘cash in’ at Gadget Show
A Gadget Spring Clean could be worth £320 perUKhousehold*
Visitors to this year’s Gadget Show Live, which runs from 11th- 15thApril, could start the day with £320 to spend if they spring clean their houses of unused gadgets and bring them to the show to swap for cash.
The Gadget Show Live chose ANOVO UKas their tech recycling partner earlier this year and set up the site www.gadgetshowlive.net/trade-in where people planning to visit the show have been busy checking the value of their unused gadgets before they attend.
The trade-in offer has been prompted by recent research from the Gadget Show Live which showed that the average household in theUKis sitting on over £320 worth of unused gadgets and gizmos.
Visitors to the show can also come to the GSL Trade-in stand and trade-in their unwanted gadgets, ready to invest in some of the amazing tech on offer.
Gadgets covered in the survey included mobile phones, laptops, handheld and standalone games consoles, digital cameras, iPods, tablets and sat navs.
“We expect to be inundated with visitors looking to exchange their outdated gadgets, whether they work or not, they may still have a value. Spring is traditionally the best time to have a clear out, even better if you can turn your old clutter into cash.” says Stephen Maxwell, Chief Commercial Officer at ANOVOUK.
Sally Bent, GSL Marketing Manager, adds: “Giving our visitors the chance to exchange their old gadgets for new is a great way to help people to get their hands on the latest must-have tech, without breaking the bank.”

The Gadget Show Live 2012 (www.gadgetshowlive.net)
Based on Five’s primetime technology programme, The Gadget Show Live is aimed at an audience of families, men and women who are keen to see, try and buy the latest must have technology. The 2011 event attracted a record 104,759 attendees (up 50% on 2010) with 20,000 consumers visiting each day. The 2010 event attracted 66,114 attendees, and the launch event in 2009 had 30,646 visitors and 154 exhibitors who promoted the latest in computing, photography mobile communications, gaming, home entertainment and in-car technology. The Gadget Show Live 2012 is open to the public from 11 to15 April 2012at the NEC Birmingham, with a dedicated trade and press day on 10 April.
