Start the festive season with a whole host of entertainment at the Alhambra!
Year on year, a local shopping centre pulls out all the stops to make the start of Christmas magical for Barnsley residents, and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever!
The Alhambra Shopping Centre, is gearing up for its annual Christmas lights switch on, on Wednesday 15th November (5-7pm) with its best line up to date.
The venue will play host to a number of recognisable faces, none more so than the leader of the PJMasks, everyone’s favourite feline superhero catboy - alongside local singing talents Toby Burton and Jade Helliwell and the centre couldn’t forget the main man himself Santa Claus!
Toby Burton (20) from Penistone is a guitar and piano playing musician that is taking the local music scene by storm, with his true life stories forming the base for many of his songs.
Jade Helliwell belongs to a fast-growing breed of modern artists writing her own songs which have a contemporary country and mainstream pop twist.
Winners of the Dearne FM School Choir will also be performing and one lucky shopper will win their Christmas shopping!
Finally, the night concludes with catboy and Santa switching on the lights throughout the Alhambra, marking the start of late night shopping events.
Steph Higham, Alhambra marketing manager said: “Christmas is an exciting time at the Alhambra and our light switch on will get everyone into the festive spirit. We have a great selection of entertainment on offer including catboy switching on our stunning decorations.”
The event marks the start of a range of Christmas activities, including late night shopping, taking place every Wednesday where retailers will be open until 8pm. Children will also be able to have supper with Santa, visit his grotto and take part in a 4D Sleigh ride experience.
