Liverpool edtech firm sees revenues hit £1m

Education software company Collabco has reported double-digital revenue growth for its 2017 financial year.

The Liverpool-based company saw sales climb to £1m last year, up 18% against 2016’s figures.

To secure further growth in 2018, Collabco recently appointed a new sales director.

Andrew Taylor has experience in the edtech market, having previously worked on cloud-based solutions for higher education.

He is responsible for ensuring that revenue continues to grow as he builds the commercial team and takes Collabco’s core technology to new markets.

Collabco is the company behind myday, a system enabling educational institutions to deploy resources and services directly onto students’ smart devices.

The tech is now used by a number of universities in the UK, Netherlands, Belgium, New Zealand and elsewhere.

Matt Dunkin, managing director at Collabco, said: “2017 was an exciting year with some key wins including the Royal Agricultural University demonstrating the flexibility and suitability of myday for a range of different types of institutions.

“It’s imperative that no matter how traditional the university or how popular it is in terms of the number of applications from prospective students it receives, universities and colleges digitise their campuses to deliver a student experience that begins the moment a student expresses an interest in the institution, through to graduation and alumni.”

He continued: “Every user experience should be seamless and intuitive. Millennials are used to being able to interact and engage with organisations on their own device wherever and whenever they choose – quite simply they demand this at university and college too.”
