North East sports specialist set for expansion with premises move

A firm specialising in sports and education has moved to new premises and taken on new staff as part of its ongoing expansion.

Sport Works has relocated from Newcastle to Royal Quays Business Centre in North Tyneside, as well as taking on three new members of staff to support

Founded in 2009, the firm designs and delivers sports programmes across the region and the UK, aiming to address issues such as health, anti-social behaviour, community cohesion and social mobility.

The move and hires are part of the firm’s wider growth strategy, which aims to get 12,000 people accessing its programmes per year by 2022.

Matt Hill, regional director for Sport Works, commented: “We’re delighted to be moving into our new premises at the Royal Quays Business Centre.

“We have had great success over the last 12 months which has seen new jobs created and more people supported in local communities.

“This has led to us needing new facilities that fit with our plans to grow further and Royal Quays Business Centre is the perfect fit for that.”

John Sparkes, head of regeneration and economic development at North Tyneside Council, added: “The council supports businesses that want to grow in our borough and we were happy to help Sport Works with their relocation.

“I’m delighted to welcome the company – they are just another example of why North Tyneside is a great place to work and do business.”
