High Horcum opens with a bang
Simulated Game Clay Experience in Pickering, North Yorkshire
High Horcum Simulated Game officially opened this weekend. The fully immersive clay shooting experience, located in the stunning natural landscape of Lockton, near Pickering offers an unrivalled atmosphere to guests, in an authentic setting - guaranteeing a fun and inclusive day out for all.
Whether a seasoned or first-time shooter, High Horcum provides a unique clay shooting experience for individuals, private parties, and corporates alike, in a breath-taking corner of Yorkshire.
The business was born when committed shooter, and former coach to Team GB’s young Olympians, Hamish Patterson met local businessman, Mike Green. In 2020, after four years of planning, Hamish’s vision of creating a fully immersive simulated shooting experience in the heart of Yorkshire became a reality.
Commenting on the Opening Day for 2021, Hamish said: “Unlike traditional clay shooting grounds where clays slow down, High Horcum Simulated Game offers a truly authentic simulated game shooting experience, regardless of the season.
“From individuals seeking coaching and tuition, to families, private parties, corporates or fundraising events, our team of highly skilled and experienced instructors will cater for each and every guest, offering bespoke and tailored packages.
“We’re delighted to be open and look forward to welcoming many guests over the coming years.”
High Horcum Farm and the surrounding area is known for its many folklore tales. Overlooking the Levisham Moor, into ‘The Devil’s Punchbowl’, legend has it that the naturally formed amphitheatre shape came to be when Wade the Giant threw a handful of earth at his wife during a heated debate!
Central to their values as businessmen, Hamish and Mike endeavour to support regional businesses by using local suppliers and on-site caterers wherever possible.
