Invest in a Slice of the Action with WL Distillery

County Durham based WL Distillery continue to make a splash in the gin market with their vibrant creations and continuous innovation at the heart of their operations. The award-winning company are now celebrating their third year since the first bottle of gin left the distillery, and along the way they have picked up a number of prestigious industry awards including gold at The Gin Masters, making Vogues ‘Hot List’, GQ’s ‘Cocktail Club’ and listed in the London Spirits Top 100 spirits.

The team recently unveiled plans to ramp up expansion with further investment and site acquisition at their County Durham based site. As part of the growth strategy the team have launched an Equity Fund through Take a Punt to support the further scale-up of the distillery.

WL Distillery are working with Take a Punt (TAP) to launch the Equity Fund, TAP connects creators of ideas, with independent, open-minded backers, who are prepared to ‘take a punt’ on the ideas, the projects and the people of the future. TAP provides its clients with a range of services, resources, and solutions via a subscribed community to either help get funding or opportunities to invest in, even if individuals are not high wealth.

Innovation especially around flavours is at the heart of the distillery, a popular pick in the product portfolio this summer is Wilson’s Gin Club ‘Watermelon and Liquorice’ which created quite a stir when it hit the market with its infusion of flavours which raised heads in the industry alongside demand from the USA market.

The premium pour of ‘Watermelon and Liquorice’ embodies a refreshing gin, crafted using juniper with the cool refreshing flavours of watermelon and mint balanced with the crisp taste of lime and expertly finished with a twist of liquorice. A delicious blend and a sumptuous flavour of summer in a glass and just the tonic for gin enthusiasts.

Award wins continue to follow the distillery and they were recent Finalists for two awards in the Startup Awards North East, Yorkshire and Humberside heat with news just in that Scott has been crowned Most Pioneering Gin Distillery MD 2023 in the Managing Director of the Year Awards 2023 hosted by SME News for their stellar work during Covid. In addition, the distillery is a finalist in the Great British Entrepreneur Awards for the Maker and Creator category.
