Newcastle software firm records 30% growth in revenue to £9.1 million

Scott Logic, headquartered in Newcastle City Centre, has launched into the New Year with a positive outlook as it announced a 30% growth in revenue to £9.1 million for 2014. The strong performance delivers a solid platform to grow its workforce by 50% in 2015.

Last year the Software Consultancy won several large profile clients in the finance, healthcare and energy trading sectors where they used the latest cutting edge technologies within complex software projects.

This success drove the recruitment of many new roles including experienced technology professionals through to graduate and intern placements in 2014.

Scott Logic’s breadth of consulting services now include a User Experience Design practice, Project Management and Testing teams as well as a very well established Software Development division.

The product arm of the business, ShinobiControls is also experiencing good growth.

Its unique charting technology, which can graphically depict large amounts of data on phones and tablets, is increasingly being selected by the developer community and enterprise for use in the exciting and explosive market for apps.

The recent launches of wearable devices such as the new iWatch are likely to fuel the growth of this market even further.

Scott Logic, now with over 140 employees, is in a strong position to continue its expansion by recruiting a wealth of high calibre software developers, software testers, UX consultants, technical architects and technical project managers this year.

The company prides itself on its highly skilled and qualified people and nurtures young talent through the Graduate and Intern Programme which is now open for applications, with places being filled fast.

CEO, Gary Scott, said: “This is an exciting time for us. Continued success in the financial and export markets, as well as breaking into Energy Trading, has provided a great order book to kick off the year, setting us up to meet our ambitious plans in 2015 and beyond.

“We’ve restructured our senior management team, secured a new Head of Sales and built a new marketing department in 2014, all enabling the company to evolve and grow our client base further.

“Providing our clients with the very best solutions and service is at the forefront of our decisions and I’m very proud of our success to date.”
