Gosforth's Parkdean Resorts seeks local talent for recruitment

Parkdean Resorts is using this year’s English Tourism Week to call on regional talent to enter the tourism industry, with the announcement of 50 local jobs and a further 100 nationwide.

The UK’s largest holiday park operator is enhancing its central support office in Gosforth with roles available in the likes of IT, marketing, finance and legal.

People looking to take the next step in their career are being recruited, with training and development opportunities available for graduates seeking their first job, to experienced professionals looking to build their skills.

The company - which is the North East’s 13th biggest business and accredited with an Investors in People Gold Standard Award - is also filling customer-facing positions out on its parks, including general managers.

The chance to travel comes with being one of Parkdean Resorts’ people, as it operates 72 holiday parks spanning the UK, from up in Scotland to down in Cornwall with five in the North East.

There are currently 154 people in apprenticeships and the company is looking to take on 64 more across the UK, with the chance to gain on-the-job experience in customer service, retail, maintenance, business admin and holiday sales.

Completing an apprenticeship with Parkdean Resorts can see people take up a fulfilling career with the business, as can Inspiring Our Next, its graduate management programme.

Maggie Pavlou, HR Director at Parkdean Resorts, added: “We are taking the opportunity in Tourism Week to showcase the fantastic careers we can offer people in the North East and beyond.

“The tourism sector has a diverse range of career opportunities whether customer-facing, or in fields such as marketing, finance and IT - and we are always looking for experienced and customer-focused people to join our team.”

Parkdean Resorts was named the region’s 13th largest business in The Journal’s Top 200 list last November, and placed 36th in the Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250, making it the biggest mid-market growth company in the North East for a second consecutive year.
