North East Technology Firm Earns Prestigious Nomination

Pioneering web-based software for the motor industry has earned a North East Technology business a prestigious award nomination.

Newcastle-based Croft Technology’s Visual has been shortlisted in the innovation category at the AM Awards 2006 for exsto: its Visual Business Management Environment. Exsto – Croft’s web-based software designed to run within a Motor Dealership - has been shortlisted in the category recognising excellence and innovation in the automotive industry.

It provides users with a picture of how the business is processing its workload. Among its unique features is the web booking service the software provides, allowing customers to book their vehicle in for a service or MOT from the comfort of their own homes, while having visibility of the workshop and courtesy car diaries, similar to booking a train of or airplane ticket via the web. Peter Macdonald, Technology Director at Croft said: “Our nomination for this prestigious award is testimony to the creativity, technical skills, and innovative approach of our team.”

He added: “exsto is the first of its kind in the motor industry and aims to reduce costs, improve profits and increase customer communications within a motor dealership. Our nomination will raise the profile of not only Croft but also the innovative skills that exist within the North East.”

The awards ceremony will be held on Thursday 22nd February at the Birmingham ICC.
