Talent pool to make waves

A North East company is launching a scheme to give small and medium sized organisations the chance to utilise the skills of highly experienced managers. Talent Pool is introducing Impact Resourcing to businesses by providing business people who can make a real difference to companies on a short term basis.

Talent Pool say that the concept of interim management - where professionals step in to companies to look after a particular project or role on a fixed term contract - is accepted practice in other areas of the UK but is virtually unknown in the North East.

Kish Mistry, head of Newcastle-based Talent Pool, said: “Having managed many different kinds of projects over the years, I realised that I was often asked to recommend people for specific jobs. When I moved into interim management myself it became apparent that this was an excellent way for clients to manage their high impact, time and profit critical assignments and to get access to a wealth of experience.

“This is a new concept for the North East and part of Talent Pool’s work is to inform and educate commercial people about the value of injecting top quality expertise into their businesses to carry out specific projects as and when they need it.”

Kish sees interim managers being used for reasons including cover for maternity or long term sick, specific project management, covering for executives who have left unexpectedly or because a company cannot afford a particular skill set permanently.

Kish said: “This is a new concept for the North East but one which provides excellent opportunities for companies of all sizes.”
