Online shopping mall for North East

A new virtual shopping mall for the North East is set to go live in July. virtualmetromall.com has been designed to allow local businesses to boost sales through a new online community. The site, which is the brain child of local entrepreneur Eric Cuthbert, will offer North East traders the chance to open and operate their own virtual web store or extend and improve an existing one.

Eric said: “The site will take commerce in the North East to the next level giving traders in the region the chance to take advantage of the explosion of online shopping.”

Small to medium sized businesses, market traders and home-business owners, are being invited to sign up to the site.

Eric said: “Those without a web site and little or no experience will be able to benefit from our wide range of tutorials designed to help you get started. “One-on-one training can also be arranged, along with help with funding for businesses interested in establishing themselves on the web.”

Virtual Metro Mall.com will also allow members to make use of a purpose-built online retail community including a virtual ‘coffee bar’ with features similar to popular social networking sites like Myspace and Facebook.

Eric added: “The advertising and marketing side of the business model creates a unique and affordable opportunity for even the smallest home-based business to extend their marketing reach. High street retailers have been suffering in recent years, and this can only to alleviate some of that strain.”
