Business event goes with a Bang

South Tyneside was transported into the future recently as guests from the local business community spent an evening wining and dining at a social event that was truly out of this world.

Over 300 guests from organisations including the North East Chamber of Commerce, BT and the Federation of Small Businesses attended the Business with a Bang event, held at Monkton Business Park South to celebrate the first anniversary of the South Tyneside Business Forum.

Following an opening speech from North East comedienne and BCB Radio Newcastle presenter Sue Sweeney, attention was then turned to further guest speakers including Geoff Ford, patron of the Forum and James Ramsbotham, chief executive of the North East Chamber of Commerce.

Michael Arnot, business forum manager and organiser of Business with a Bang said: “I am thoroughly delighted with how the event has been received by the South Tyneside business community.

“One year on and we are already ensuring that the Forum’s vision of being THE influential voice of businesses in the district is coming true. Our aim has always been to harness the energy and entrepreneurial spirit of businesses in the borough and create a major voice for commerce.”

Business with a Bang guest Angela Brown who is managing director of Training in Childcare and chair of the Business Forum added: “It is as a result of the enthusiasm and determination shown by the Forum that the business community of South Tyneside is really starting to find its own voice.

“Business with a Bang provided companies with a unique opportunity to network and meet like-minded people in an informal setting. I am confident that I speak for everyone when I say that it was truly a night to remember.”
