College student goes back to his roots
A former Newcastle College student has gone back to his alma mater for his latest creative project as an art director with marketing agency Robson Brown.
Twenty-two year old Ben Catley was instrumental in developing the concept behind the College’s new summer enrolment campaign, engineered by Robson Brown’s creative and digital teams.
The new strap line ‘Show the world what you’re made of’ is based around talent being part of everyone’s DNA, and Newcastle College helping people to realise their true potential.
Many staff and students at the college are in the campaign, which features TV, radio, cinema, outdoor media and press advertising.
The new TV advert and photography were directed by Johnny Carr, an award-winning director and photographer who has also created campaigns for Nike, Audi and O2.
Former Advertising Design student Ben said: “It’s great to be able to come back to the college and contribute to the summer campaign. I couldn’t believe how much the college has changed. The campus was so impressive and there has been so much investment into the new buildings.
“I think the finished product looks awesome and I’m really proud to have been a part of it.”
Julie Armstrong, Director of Marketing and Sales at Newcastle College, said: “It is inspiring to work with a former student and creative agency on the development of a winning campaign. We hope it will encourage the people of the North East to come and study at Newcastle College and really show the world what they’re made of.”
