Digital firm get people talking
A Newcastle based digital marketing agency has helped a mobile phone network to increase its website sales conversion rate by 30% over the past month after carrying out a project to make the site more user friendly.
Talkmobile teamed up with digital marketing specialists Silverbean to help increase the conversion rate from site visitors to www.talkmobile.co.uk into actual sales of SIM cards.
The website wasn’t converting at the levels expected following its launch in August. Prior to investing in a significant marketing campaign, Talkmobile enlisted Silverbean to carry out a usability study to help realise the site’s full potential.
Key areas of the study included evaluating the effectiveness of the website as a sales channel, improving efficiency of the purchase process and establish whether the website supported users’ goals.
John Ryder, head of client services at Silverbean, said: “We were really pleased to have the chance to demonstrate our expertise with a leading telecommunications firm and it’s fantastic to see that as a result of our recommendations they have seen an increase in conversion rates by 30 per cent in just a month.”
Andrew Beckett, Head of Online Business at 20:20 Mobile, Talkmobile’s online solutions partner, has been impressed by the service provided by Silverbean and by the impact of the usability study on sales.
He said: “Silverbean worked with us to gain a better understanding of the front end efficiency of the website. The combination of their expertise in website usability and access to the latest analytical technologies has helped us deliver a huge impact on online sales for Talkmobile.”
