Inequality rules in the modern dating game
Women looking for love are shunning equality, according to relationship expert Sharon Kell.
As the Managing Director of bespoke introductions agency Coco Moon, Sharon has extensive knowledge of the etiquette surrounding the modern dating scene.
Sharon warns the world of modern dating can be a minefield with it assumed that these days men and women will want to ‘go Dutch’ when deciding where to go and paying the costs of the date.
However, while women have been striving for equality in many areas of their lives such as education, careers and earning capacity, Sharon says this has not extended to many of those looking for love.
Sharon said: “I am sure some people will find it surprising, but many women do not want to be on an equal footing with men when it comes to romance.
“The reality of the dynamics of dating often is a long way from what a woman may say she is looking for in a potential life-long partner.
“Many say they are not bothered about how much a man earns or what he does for a living, but in my experience once they find someone they want to go on a date with that is no longer the case.
“It also turns out they would not dream of going ‘Dutch’, even on the first date, and expect the man, not only to pick up the bill, but also to take the lead when making decisions about where they go and what they do.”
Established in 2008, Coco Moon offers a sophisticated alternative to internet dating by introducing members through personalised processes rather than computer driven checklists.
This includes its expert staff holding personal consultations with potential customers prior to offering and accepting membership.
The business uses a complex methodology that looks at all aspects of an individual’s life to really understand them as a person.
Coco Moon works with clients to understand what they want to achieve in relationships and then supports them through their membership period, monitoring progress, to ensure members have the very best probability of finding and keeping fulfilling long-term relationships.
The company tried and tested introduction methodology has proved a great success - to date 40 per cent of its members have achieved long-term relationships, thanks to Coco Moon’s support, and several weddings are planned this year.
