What's good about 2013? Introducing Think Links

If you have dropped into being gloomy about business then be careful your business doesn’t decide to leave you!

By that I mean your customers, your suppliers and your people! It can be tough to be optimistic in challenging times but as owner or leader of your organisation, it is up to you to give the rallying message.

So what’s good about 2013?

As a leader you will already have been looking for opportunities and had many thoughts. Sometimes a few prompts that add to your thoughts can help. I call them “think links” – further thinking that links to yours. I’ve got a BIG collection of them (it’s my sad person hobby!) that I use in my coaching and teach at my events. Here ’s one as your starter - with more to follow.

Think Links 1 – Careful Collaboration

New routes to new customers can be through sound alliances or collaborations. However to make this really work you need to be careful as bitter experience shows you can easily be stabbed in the back, waste time or lose your edge.

But the upside is you can get fast entry to new markets and customers. I know because it is one of our key strategies here at BizVision.The model I’ve developed for effective collaboration involves finding the weakness (or even greed) of the other partner and in “letting them see the rabbit” or opportunity.

For example, if it is how much extra business they will make through the alliance then quickly get to the numbers and keep bringing them back to the numbers.

There’s a load of nonsense in the marketplace about collaborations or alliances mostly making it sound rosy. It’s tough, frustrating, needing caution but very rewarding. And NOW is the IDEAL time to get in there?
