Forward-Looking Firm Three Years in the Making

A Birmingham-based design agency is celebrating three years of trading and two new hires on top of its move to a new creative home in the Jewellery Quarter.

Sixth Story has recently enjoyed a spate of new contract wins, including the re-branding and website design for prestigious London-based public affairs consultancy, Curtin&Co. The agency is also getting ready to unveil new branding for the recently refurbished St. Barnabas Church Centre, Erdington, and a fresh website for The Drum arts centre, in Aston, among other projects.

Sian Lenegan, Managing Director at Sixth Story, said: “Three years in the making and I couldn’t be happier with the space that the business is in right now – literally and figuratively speaking!

“It’s been incredible working with great national brands and a handful of international clients. What really inspires us as a team though is the brilliance and tenacity of our West Midlands based clients. It’s fantastic to see how industrious our part of the world truly is!”

The creative agency is among the top six per cent of UK firms who can claim the title of ‘high growth’, defined as showing a 20 per cent increase year-on-year for three years. Sixth Story has achieved well in excess of this and the consistent growth in the business has led to two new hires in the past month, taking the team to a total of ten.

Andreas Olymbios joined the team with a Masters in Visual Communication as a graphic designer and is the fourth Wolverhampton University graduate to find employment with Sixth Story as part of a successful relationship built between the two organisations. The second new hire, Paul Tibbetts, brings his coding skills to the agency’s digital team as a web developer able to take on any HTML challenge he can get his hands on.

“The expansion of our team feels incredible, I set out to create a company where people love to work and that’s what we have here. I’m confident that sustainable growth will most certainly come from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program which we feel very privileged to be a part of,” explained Sian.

“As a result of the work we’re doing on the business growth program, we will be launching a new product offering in 2013 and aim to break records in our growth metrics!”
