How successful was Small Business Saturday?
This weekend saw the first attempt at Small Business Saturday; an event aimed at driving sales across independent businesses during one of the busiest shopping times of the year.
Shadow Business Secretary, Chuka Umunna steered the cross parliamentary campaign which prompted plenty of photo opportunities for politicians in local shops - but how effective was it?
Umunna said he liked the US idea because it incorporated elements of the ‘American Dream’ and suggest Britain needed an equivalent ethos.
