Zeel aims for European glory after winning national award

A leading Wolverhampton technology specialist has capped a record year by being crowned national champions in a prestigious awards competition.

Zeel Solutions, which provide automated solutions for Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO), Vendor Management services and Travel and Subsistence arrangements, beat off competition from hundreds of companies to take the ‘Innovation’ title at the European Business Awards.

The company impressed judges with its ability to bring a host of new solutions to market, whilst reporting year-on-year growth and creating 10 new high value jobs in the process.

It also received praise for transforming the way the NHS manages the recruitment of temporary staff through the introduction of the firm’s ‘Zrecruiter’ platform, an end-to-end management solution.

Zeel will now go on to represent the UK and compete against 30 other countries for the Ruben d’Honneur trophy.

It has already made a five-minute video for www.businessawardseurope.com, which showcases its achievements and aims to persuade voters to back the firm’s bid.

“This is a fantastic honour for our company and, importantly, recognises the outstanding contribution our staff have played in taking us from a start-up in 2007 to a market leader in 2013,” explained Rav Cheema.

“We were up against some massive companies in a vast array of sectors, so to come through that test underlines the difference our solutions are making to the recruitment sector.”

He continued: “Our focus will now be on winning the ‘Ruben d’Honneur’ and putting the UK and the West Midlands firmly on the international innovation map.”

Established in 2007, Zeel Solutions is one of the UK’s fastest growing tech start-ups, combining the latest technology with industry experience to offer a 5-strong suite of solutions that give recruitment agencies the chance to offer better cost, control and compliance when managing temporary or permanent staff.

The company, which employs 23 staff and is on course for a record £1.6m turnover this year, has developed a blue chip client base that sees it operate within logistics, distribution, manufacturing, retail and the public sector.

Using its extensive development team to tailor ‘Zrecruiter’, the firm is now changing the way the NHS recruits its staff and saving Trusts – on average - £140,000 for every £1m of locum spend.

Rav said: “The unique features we’ve introduced provide quicker recruitment solutions, real time snapshots of management information and ensures 100% compliance at the click of a button.

“In an era where cost cutting is at the forefront of everyone’s thoughts, we are offering NHS Trusts immediate financial savings. In fact, over a course of the year our solutions have the potential to save taxpayers millions of pounds.”

Since 2007, the European Business Awards has been shining a light on the most innovative businesses on the continent by promoting success, innovation and ethics in the European business community.

In 2011, the EBAs engaged with over 15,000 organisations in over 30 countries, with participants representing a combined turnover of over €1 trillion Euros (8.23% of EU GDP) and employing over 2.7 million people.

Rav concluded: “We are very proud of our West Midlands roots and would love to bring the European title back home to the region. However, we can’t do it on our own so any votes we can generate from local people and businesses would be very welcome.”
