Cupid’s arrow set to fly for North Tyneside businesses

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner prompting many people to start thinking about their perfect partner. But instead of romance, North Tyneside Council is encouraging entrepreneurs in the borough to look at a different kind of matchmaking and attract a wealth of new customers for their business.

“The Art of Seduction – How to Attract More Customers” is an innovative three hour presentation workshop taking place on Thursday 13th February at the North Tyneside Business Centre, in North Shields.

Hosted by The North Tyneside Business Factory, it starts at 5pm and will feature two high-profile and globally successful speakers who’ll be sharing their tricks of the trade with small business owners from across the region.

Phil Gripton – originally from North Tyneside – is the CEO of Cupid plc, one of the top five global dating organisations which was listed on the London Stock Exchange AIM (Alternative Investment Market) in June 2010 and since then has enjoyed international growth and undertaken a small number of acquisitions.

His session will focus upon the importance of sales in building a business during which he will draw upon his 20 years experience in senior leadership roles with technology businesses including Cable & Wireless, Energis, Parametric Technology Corporation and ICL.

Phil Gripton said; “Running your own business requires you to have a vision of what you are hoping to achieve but it can be a difficult balancing act between this and ensuring that you have the right solution in place to achieve success. Hearing about other people’s experiences can be extremely inspirational for a business owner and we hope that this informative workshop will allow attendees to learn more about some of the successful sales strategies and real life practical experiences that could help them shape their own plans moving forward.”

Joining Phil Gripton is presentation and business development specialist Dan Bond who will deliver a session on “Special Business Powers” and take the audience through all aspects of the sales process to motivate and spur them on to achieve further success.

Welcoming the workshop, Cllr Frank Lott, Cabinet Member responsible for Economic Development at North Tyneside Council said; “Generating new customers is a challenge facing any business, particularly in this economic climate, and we are delighted to be continuing to offer support to start-ups and recently established businesses throughout the region to enable them to make a success of their ventures. This workshop will be hugely beneficial to those attending and we are especially pleased to have two such high profile and highly experienced speakers on the agenda.”
