This week's Yorkshire appointments

Search Laboratory, Nicola Winters and Kira Lauber

Leeds-based search marketing agency, Search Laboratory, has boosted its SEO offering with the appointment of two new senior content and online PR managers following a host of new business wins.

Nicola Winters has been promoted from content and online PR manager, while Kira Lauber has joined the agency from Harrogate’s Web Marketing Group (WMG)

Search Laboratory, this month named in The Sunday Times Top 100 Companies to Work For for the third year running, has recently won a raft of new clients including Urban Outfitters, Seraphine, Jigsaw US and Online Golf.

Both Nicola and Kira will support Search Laboratory’s Head of Content and Online PR and one of The Drum’s 2013 30 Women Under 30 in Digital, Freia Muehlenbein, in managing the agency’s 100+ strong content team.

Kira said: “I am hugely excited to join Search Laboratory and I am looking forward to working to further develop our online PR offering and help drive even better results for our clients.

“It’s encouraging to see such creative and enthusiastic individuals, and the work they have achieved so far. I can’t wait to get stuck in and I have had such a warm welcome already.”

Nicola joined Search Laboratory as an SEO executive in 2011 from Baker Tilly where she had worked on the marketing and PR teams.

Nicola added: “Search Laboratory has already seen huge growth and I hope to continue to grow, retain and develop our staff while constantly improving our SEO offering.

“We have a talented bunch of managers at Search Laboratory who are all motivated and passionate so I’m looking forward to continue to work with them and their teams.”

Quest PR, Shelley Ross

Business to business specialist Quest PR has further expanded its team of former journalists and experienced PR

consultants with the appointment of Shelley Ross as account manager.

Quest MD Sharon Cain, said: “Shelley’s ‘media savvy’ combined with her great client management skills and understanding of businesses and Third Sector organisations makes her a perfect fit for Quest.

“After winning a raft of new accounts, Shelley’s appointment comes at a formative period as we continue to recruit.”

Shelley said: “Quest’s strong track record speaks volumes and the agency’s integrated PR and digital campaigns makes our delivery transparent across the sectors we operate in.

Clough Corporate Solutions, Andrew Waudby

Andrew Waudby, a member of the corporate recovery and insolvency team at Clough Corporate Solutions, has been appointed as a Partner at the firm, which is part of chartered accountancy firm Clough & Company.

Andrew will now handle a full range of corporate and personal insolvency cases including administration, liquidation, company voluntary arrangements, bankruptcy and individual voluntary arrangements.

Andrew will work alongside head of Clough Corporate Solutions Chris Wood. Chris says: “Andrew is extremely capable, as his exam results demonstrate, and since joining us in 2009 he has become an incredibly valuable member of our team.

“We work hard to save businesses and jobs here in Yorkshire, and through our office in the North West, and Andrew’s promotion to Partner is thoroughly deserved and will now see him dealing directly with businesses across all industries.”

Chamber International, David Attia

A former international sales director whose efforts led to his employer gaining the Queens Award for Enterprise in International Trade has joined Chamber International as a senior export adviser.​

David Attia is a former international business director at Jacuzzi UK, Bradford. In 24 years with the company, he established overseas offices in Europe and the Far East and built up annual global sales for its products, especially its Astracast kitchen sinks, to £12m.

Chamber International, which also runs the We are International Export Network as part of Leeds City Region Local Enterprise Partnership’s We are International campaign, helps hundreds of new and experienced exporters with a wide range of specialist services to make exporting easier and more cost effective each year and is exclusively partnered with London headquartered global testing organisation, Intertek, to assist with a wide range of issues including product conformity.

Langley’s Solicitors, Gemma Sherbourne

The employment team at Langleys Solicitors has boosted its ranks with the appointment of Gemma Sherbourne, (pictured below, second left) an experienced solicitor who joins the York firm from Ward Hadaway in Leeds.

Since qualifying in 2005, Gemma has worked with a range of clients from small owner-managed businesses through to national PLCs and has advised on matters across the employment law spectrum.

She is an experienced Employment Tribunal advocate and has also provided support on commercial transactions in relation to TUPE issues, as well as drafting warranties and indemnities.

Commenting on her new role with Langleys, Gemma said: “I’m delighted to be joining an Employment Law team with such a strong reputation, and I’m looking forward to developing my breadth of expertise with an interesting range of clients.”

Head of the York Employment team, Stephen Elliott said: “Gemma brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and enthusiasm, and her arrival further strengthens our growing team.”

Airedale International, Jonathan Jones

Yorkshire-born Jonathan Jones has recently been appointed as northern area sales manager for Leeds-based IT cooling manufacturer, Airedale International.

Jonathan joined Airedale as an electrical and electronic engineering apprentice in 1992, gaining valuable knowledge of Airedale’s business by working in a number of functions including manufacturing systems, new product development and special projects, before moving into applications where he provided office-based support for Airedale’s northern area sales engineers.

Commenting on his appointment, Jonathan said: “Airedale is an established UK manufacturer with over 40 years’ experience in providing integrated cooling solutions into the data centre market with a strong focus on efficiency, carbon reduction and lowering energy costs.

“I am extremely enthusiastic about what Airedale can offer the market and look forward to playing a greater role in supporting our customers’ needs.”

Airmaster, Ian Feeley

Airmaster, the air conditioning and heating specialists are growing again. From a one man start-up in 1992, Airmaster now employ 26 staff working nationwide from their Swallownest premises on the Sheffield-Rotherham border.

Ian Feeley, formerly at PK Group Chesterfield, joins Airmaster as maintenance manager to manage their busy department.

He will also help to manage the maintenance service reporting systems so necessary for ISO compliance which have been developed and championed by Ian Fisher and his team.

Ian commented, “I’m delighted to have joined Airmaster. I’ve been aware of the company for a couple of years and have been impressed by their growth and development during this time.

“I’m looking forward to helping the company achieve its’ goals over the coming years.”
