Ambitious restructure to deliver the goods

Europa Worldwide Logistics is investing in a massive front end restructuring as part of its ambition to become even more customer focused across its growing UK 10 branch network.

Europa has reorganised it’s road freight sales and customer services functions with 77 existing staff moving roles and 9 new staff recruited. The new roles include 30 account managers, 10 branch managers and 46 customer service positions all of which are intended to better service customer needs.

Europa is one of the largest privately owned transport and logistics companies in the UK and was acquired by Andrew Baxter in August last year, at the time he announced plans for significant investment in the business. This has already delivered two major initiatives aimed at building Europa. The branch network has been extended plus Europa is soon to start construction on a state-of-the-art 262,500 sq ft (24,387 sq mt) head office and South of England hub, at Prologis Park near Dartford.

The restructure, which came into effect on 1 May has been led by Dionne Redpath, Sales & Branch Network Director – who joined Europa in January. Dionne has spent her career in the logistics industry and brings a broad range of experience from sales team management to contract logistics facilities and management, and the development of large-scale European and domestic operations.

Dionne commented: “These appointments mark the next exciting stage of development for Europa and recognise the talent that exists nationwide both within the industry and the business itself.

“There was a real need to re-align the existing structure and to further build on the foundation in order to create a knowledgeable team who are focused on servicing our growing customer base.

“The creation of the sales and customer service infrastructure has been both swift and smooth and is as a direct result of the drive of the management team to create a more customer-focussed environment.”

The new structure and new roles are designed to ensure a greater emphasis on customer service, the focus is entirely on customer satisfaction and strengthening partnerships with Europa’s client base. Customers will be advised of their new Europa contacts as part of the roll-out with each individual customer having an assigned member of the team to personally manage their account.

Dionne added: “The improvements create a better infrastructure that will allow both our business and that of our customers to flourish by delivering excellent customer service. More dedicated staff to support clients will add value to the customers’ businesses enabling them to work more effectively with our market leading products and services.

“Together this team create an experienced and dedicated network who have a proven track record, and will help take Europa from strength to strength helping deliver our aim to be internationally recognised as one of Europe’s finest freight forwarders.”

Europa is planning to further build on the team by introducing more account managers and further branches to increase its footprint across the UK to service customers on the doorstep. This will be underpinned by further investment including a new integrated IT system.
