Family businesses of any size, sector or specialism can enter up to three of the ten categories for 2014, which includes two introduced this year - Employer of the Year, and Director of the Year (under 40).
Other categories for 2014 are:
Family Business of the Year
Best Small Family Business
Fastest Growing Family Business
Business Innovation
Leading Adviser to Family Businesses
Manufacturing Excellence

Service Excellence.
Sponsors for the 2014 Awards are Midlands’ accountants and business advisers Smith Cooper, headline sponsor for the fourth consecutive year, Barclays, Becketts Farm, Crouch Logistics, PwC, Shakespeares, Unum, Premium Credit, Thomas Miller Investment and First Actuarial.
The full line-up of independent judges are to be announced next week, but already confirmed are Mark Samworth of fourth generation family business Samworth Brothers and Hussein Lalani, MD of 99p Stores.
Charlotte Perkins, MD of The Wilson Organisation, a third generation family business which organises the Awards, commented: “I would urge family run or owned businesses, their leaders and advisers, to take this opportunity to shine a light on their work, business, achievements and successes, and take advantage of the extra two weeks to enter too.
“The Midlands Family Business Awards are the regions only initiative dedicated to recognising and rewarding family-owned businesses and the professionals working with them, and our past winners all say they have found them a fabulous, very enjoyable and worthwhile experience for the whole business and workforce.”
