Barratt Homes launches 2 new developments bringing 141 homes to Wakefield

Local housebuilder, Barratt Homes is launching two new developments in the Wakefield district this summer, bringing 141 new homes to the area.

The Foundry, on Silcoates Street, which will be launching in July, will be set to the north west of Wakefield city centre, and will boast just 55 three and four bedroom homes.

The homes will be situated near Balne Lane, within an established residential area, making it perfect for families, couples and first time buyers.

Also launching in July will be Priory Fields, on Common Lane in Upton, near Pontefract. The development will comprise 86 homes, a mixture of detached and semi-detached, two, three and four-bedroom homes in the village of Upton on the edge of open countryside.

Barratt Homes has seen huge success in the past 12 months across Wakefield with the launch of sites including Greenacres in Pontefract and Silkwood Gate in Wakefield, with more than 135 homes being sold in the area in 2014 alone.

Sam Wood, sales director at Barratt Homes, commented: “Wakefield is a fantastic place for us to build homes – with the launch of Help to Buy and the property market on the up, many people are looking to buy their first home or to take their next step up the ladder.

“We feel that the two new developments, alongside our existing developments in Wakefield provide a great range of properties, all offering something different for the prospective buyer.”
