Four Housing appoints new Development and Regeneration Manager
Not for profit housing provider, Four Housing, has appointed Lee Carman as Development and Regeneration Manager to oversee and manage the development of new affordable housing in the south of the region.
Lee moves from his role within the housing provider’s Care and Repair arm, where he was responsible for a Project Management Service offering assistance to older, disabled and vulnerable people including home improvements and adaptations.
As Development and Regeneration Manager, Lee will oversee the creation of new schemes from initial plans through to completion. He will be responsible for the development of new homes in the South of the region, including Gateshead, Durham and Hartlepool.
Lee said: “It is an exciting time to be Development and Regeneration Manager as Four Housing is currently working on a number of worthwhile housing projects. This includes schemes in Millway and Cromwell Street in Gateshead, which together represent a £3.1 million investment in the area.
“There is a real need for more affordable housing in the region. I am looking forward to achieving the successful delivery of our existing housing programme and to getting started with our proposed housing plans for the future.”
The development of 15 two and three bedroom houses in Millway, Gateshead is currently underway, in partnership with Gateshead Council and Able Construction. Representing a £1.7 million investment, the homes will add to Four Housing’s existing three bedroom properties found on Millway Close, which saw £500,000 invested into the area when they were created in 2012.
Four Housing is also developing 12 two and three bedroom affordable homes in Cromwell Street, Gateshead, working with specialist constructors Southdale. The project has received £240,000 in funding from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and represents a total investment of £1.4m.
