Record growth for Cheshire filter firm

North West filter manufacturer, Croft Filters, has achieved record sales for 2013/14, marking a 20 per cent year-on-year increase.

Established more than 28 years’ ago, the Warrington-based manufacturer posted record figures in nine out of 12 months between August 2013 and July 2014.

December 2013 was the most successful period of the year, with a 150 per cent increase in sales versus the same month in 2012, while January and March also saw strong figures.

Croft’s growth has been supported by the business’ £500,000 investment in a state-of-the-art additive manufacturing (AM), or metal 3D printing, machine, and the subsequent launch of specialist company, Croft Additive Manufacturing (CAM) in September 2013.

As well as driving research and development, the innovative technology has helped Croft’s in-house team of experts deliver high-quality, never-before-possible components under tight deadlines, increasing the business’ profitability.

Neil Burns, director at Croft Filters and CAM, said: “Our investment in additive manufacturing was led by changing customer needs, and has enabled us to expand our offering, driving down costs and increasing operational efficiencies for the end-user.

“We remain committed to developing this technology, and will work with our skilled engineers to support further growth and broaden our sector expertise for UK and overseas markets.”
