Smart Bear Creative founder shortlisted for EVA Award

A businesswoman from Stretford has been shortlisted for the prestigious Sole Trader Award at this year’s Enterprise Vision Awards (EVA).

Suzi Zobair established Smart Bear Creative in 2013, after gaining a First Class Honours Degree in Multimedia and the Internet at Salford University, at the age of 34.

She decided to fully embrace her passion for web development and social media and create a successful business from it.

The EVA awards have been created to specifically recognise those ladies in the North West who are inspiring others by successfully running their own businesses or are at the forefront of their profession

Originally from Todmorden in West Yorkshire and now working from Manchester, her fascination for the digital industry began over 10 years ago but it was her desire to help others and utilise her skill that inspired her to attend university as a mature student and become a fully-fledged web developer.

Her goal was to combine technical and entrepreneurial skills to launch her own business. Smart Bear Creative was born on the eve of her 35th birthday as a small independent business.

Services began with bespoke website design, social media development and search engine optimisation (SEO).

Due to demand for her cost-effective, no-nonsense service, in September 2013 Suzi began to provide workshops, training others how to further develop their businesses.

The judges at EVA have recognised her commitment to offering a quality service that provides specialised expertise while taking into consideration the limited budgets of most small and new businesses..

Suzi Zobair said: “I am hopeful that this award will not only further develop my Smart Bear Creative brand but also encourage other women to follow their dreams and shine in this male dominated industry by providing them with the confidence that women can thrive in business too, just as I have.

“To be shortlisted is a true honour and I am overwhelmed by the recognition I have received so far.”
