Gateshead asbestos management firm signs three year contract with Tadea

Gateshead-based asbestos management firm Lucion has signed a three-year contract with Tadea’s Effective Transport Solutions driver training centre

Lucion Environmental is the first company to sign up to the new service, which officially launched in July.

Lucion has seven offices nationwide and a workforce of over 150 employees – of whom more than 100 drive as part of their role. In an effort to cut carbon emissions and boost road safety, the company will send all of its new drivers through the Washington-based centre as part of its induction process.

Training for Lucion staff will take place using the centre’s fully-equipped classroom facilities and its full-scale, state-of-the-art driving simulators. Focus will be on fuel efficiency, motorway driving, hazard perception and driving adverse weather conditions.

Steve Hunter, Managing Director at Tadea-UK, said: “We’re delighted that Lucion has decided to team up with Effective Transport Solutions. Lucion – a company with clear environmental goals – is looking to seriously improve the fuel efficiency of its driving fleet, and we’re here to help them achieve that.

“This contract is not just a sign of Lucion’s environmental commitment, but also a mark of the potential they see in the Effective Transport Solutions service and the part we can play in helping them to achieve their goals.

“This is the beginning of a partnership that will help reduce emissions, cut running costs and boost levels of safety on our roads. We are very proud to be a part of that”.
