Craig joins Body 2 Fit team
Body 2 Fit, Teesside’s leading private health clinic, has added sports therapist Craig Deighton to its team of practitioners. The Wynyard Park-based clinic has hired the 22-year-old who is from Stockton-on-Tees, following his graduation from Teesside University with a First Class Honours Degree in sport therapy.
Craig, also a part-time sports therapist at Middlesbrough FC’s youth academy and first team therapist at Darlington FC, is available to offer advice and sports massages every Friday, working alongside the company’s physiotherapists.
Managing Director Rob White said: “Given that he has qualified with such a high-quality degree and already has nearly a year’s experience working with two of the region’s football clubs, Craig is set to become a valued member of our team.
“By introducing him into the business we are able to offer additional appointment times and ensure that clients are seen as soon as possible - vital when someone is in training, has an injury or is in pain. It’s a great time for him to be joining Body 2 Fit with the Great North Run having just taken place. I’m sure he is going to be busy helping many runners with their recovery.”
Craig who aims to become a chartered physiotherapist, said: “I’m delighted to be working at Body 2 Fit. Everyone is very welcoming and it is a great place to be.”
As all of the Body 2 Fit staff are qualified practitioners, clients can often re-claim the costs of their physiotherapy and sports massages through their health providers if they have health insurance.
The company has also just launched a new lunchtime fitness programme to encourage people to include exercise in their busy lifestyles.
It is offering a range of fun 30-minutes “Power Lunch” classes which include Pilates, yoga, boxercise, hang tough and Nordic Walking. The classes cater for all abilities, making them suitable for everyone. They have been designed to be as effective as possible in a limited period of time, guaranteeing maximum results.
Rob White added: “We appreciate that many people lead very busy lives and find it difficult to fit in exercise, but by making small changes to your lifestyle you can have a big impact on your health.
“By getting involved in a class each working day, you would be adhering to the Department of Health guidelines that recommend adults should participate in at least 150 minutes of moderately intense activity each week.”
