Blackpool hotel group the Right choice for Fleetwood Town Youth
Fleetwood Town’s youth team has secured a new sponsor for the 2014/15 season in the Choice Hotel Group.
The company will play a big part in supporting the development of young players with up to 25 of them using the Healthand Fitness facilities at the Cliffs Hotel, Queens Promenade, Blackpool.
The hotel chain’s sponsorship includes promotion of the group’s hotels at the football club’s stadium, in its match programmes and as the main sponsor on the youth team’s tracksuits.
Martin Booker, head of commercial at Fleetwood Town, said: “With the youth team players recently moving into the club’s player accommodation, we needed a fitness facility close by for them to use.
“The Cliffs Hotel has a fantastic gym and we are delighted they can support the club with this partnership.”
Steve Carlin, head of youth at Fleetwood Town, emphasised the importance of having such a facility at his players’ disposal.
He added: “The importance of having a gym close by for rest and rehabilitation as well as additional strength and conditioning training is invaluable to the lads after training so this development is fantastic for the club.”
Choice is an independent family owned business which had humble beginnings when it opened its first guest house almost 70 years ago.
Its present management team has more than 360 years’ experience in the industry and seven members of the family work at the company. The chain has a portfolio of five hotels ranging from family, adult only to country house hotels.
Tom Nelder, trainee manager at Choice Hotels said: “Upon hearing about Fleetwood Town Youth Team needing a sponsor for the 2014-2015 season as well as a facility for off-pitch training and rehabilitation, we decided it was a community opportunity we couldn’t miss out on.
“We’re looking forward to seeing the players don the new tracksuits and we are hoping it will be a good luck charm for future seasons to come. We wish the players all the best for 2014-2015.”
