North East media firm launches amidst Pride of Britain
Business to Business creative media service, oodlemedia was established following successful projects with the likes of smeg, Northumbria University, Northern Stage and Sunderland University.
The passion behind the oodlemedia brand is North East photographer, videographer and entrepreneur, Creative Director Topher McGrillis.
Originally from Carlisle, Topher relocated to the North East in 2010. In 2013 he shot and produced a piece on the epic smeg endurance challenge completed by Tony “The Fridge” Phoenix-Morrison, recent Pride of Britain National Fundraiser of the year award winner.
A retired Granddad from Hebburn, Tony has carried a smeg fridge weighing 42.5Kg the length of the UK, now totalling 2,500 miles.
Tony carried his fridge to raise money and awareness of the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, raising £100,000 for cancer research.
Oodles emotive record of Tony’s feat has not only provided footage for ITVs Pride of Britain Awards, but also caught the attention of the team at smeg.
This has led to a number of promotional pieces for the iconic appliances manufacturer.
John Davies, Brand Manager states “It is a privilege for smeg to be able to support Tony in his challenge for such a worthy cause and it was the unique combination of elegant storytelling, evoking mood and emotion which caught our eye in oodlemedia’s productions.
“This marries perfectly with our aspirational brand – their work mirrors our emphasis on quality and design.”
This partnership with smeg, along with work for other well known businesses and institutions in the North East, led Topher to further develop his vision for oodlemedia.
Whilst the procurement of business media solutions such as branding, web design, photo and video is significant both in terms of frequency and budget for businesses, there are often a number of separate suppliers and agencies to be approached and versed on an organisations’ needs.
This is costly in terms of time, money and overall quality. Whilst traditional agencies have sought to provide more of a “one-stop-shop,” this continues to leave clients with a fragmented approach to corporate media, thus fragmented results.
Oodlemedia provides coherent ideas and solutions based on the clients’ needs and goals. A results driven, creative media service, oodlemedia seek to give businesses and institutions a much more consultative and unified approach to their websites, branding, photos and videos, thus strengthening the quantifiable outcomes for clients.
Brand Lead, Mike Mysko was integral in the development of oodles own brand, where they have demonstrated a passion for captivating audiences. Topher comments, “oodlemedia works to help companies remove the stuffiness in their advertising and communications; we help them to be brave, find out what makes them interesting and special and tell their story” to “inform by entertaining.”
