WhiteWash Laboratories launches new toothbrush to help combat breast cancer and prostate cancer
Middlesbrough-based teeth whitening company, WhiteWash Laboratories, has joined forces with the Pink Ribbon Foundation and Prostate Cancer UK to help with the fight against cancer.
With more than 47,000 women diagnosed with breast cancer each year, WhiteWash Laboratories is proud to launch its pink rotating electric toothbrush during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in aid of the Pink Ribbon Foundation.
The pink toothbrush, which is the latest addition to WhiteWash Laboratories’ collection of teeth whitening products, is available online at www.whitewashlaboratories.com and for each toothbrush purchased, £2.50 will be donated to the Pink Ribbon Foundation.
The Pink Ribbon Foundation is a grant making trust with a mission to fund projects and provide financial support to UK charities which relieve the needs of people who are suffering from, or who have been affected by breast cancer, or who work to advance the understanding of breast cancer, its early detection and treatment.
Not forgetting the men, WhiteWash Laboratories has also created a black rotating electric toothbrush to raise funds and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK, which is the UK’s largest men’s health charity.
Prostate Cancer UK aims to help more men survive prostate cancer and enjoy a better quality of life. It has three goals: to support men diagnosed with the disease, to find answers by funding research, and raising awareness to improve the care of those affected by prostate cancer.
Middlesbrough-based WhiteWash Laboratories, which was founded by school friends Tom Riley, Matthew Lloyd and Chris McPhillips, has developed a range of tooth-whitening and oral care products, which are available online and through a network of 1,000 dentists across the UK.
The growing North East company, which turns over about £1m, is already exporting to more than 20 companies around the globe and is hoping to expand into new markets.
Tom Riley, Managing Director of WhiteWash Laboratories, said: “We’re really proud to be launching our new toothbrushes to help raise money and awareness for the Pink Ribbon Foundation and Prostate Cancer UK.
“The statistics are shocking, with more than 12,000 women dying of breast cancer each year and more than 10,000 men dying of prostate cancer; they’re unforgiving diseases that can affect anyone, so we wanted to do something to show our support for the charities. We’re hoping that the new brushes raise lots of money for the fantastic causes.”
Lisa Allen, from the Pink Ribbon Foundation, said: “It’s great that WhiteWash Laboratories is supporting the Pink Ribbon Foundation and we’d like to say a massive thank you to the team.
“The number of women diagnosed with breast cancer is rising, so it’s vital that we receive help such as this. The Pink Ribbon Foundation relies on the hard work freely given by Trustees, interested parties and its Patrons, so all the support we receive goes a long way in helping those affected by breast cancer.”
Mark Bishop, Director of Fundraising at Prostate Cancer UK, said: “Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer in men, with more than 40,000 men diagnosed with the disease each year, so we really have to act now to help combat the disease.
“The new black toothbrush is a great way to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK and will hopefully help spread the word and raise awareness of prostate cancer. We are really grateful for the support from WhiteWash Laboratories.”
