BathEmpire.com among top 100 fastest-growing private firms

Leading online bathroom retailer BathEmpire.com has been listed among Britain’s fastest growing private companies for the third consecutive year.

BathEmpire.com, based in Warwickshire, is again ranked in the top 100 private firms in Britain with the fastest growing sales over three years.

The company is placed 64th in The Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 league table after annual sales rose by 59 per cent to £18.6m during the three-year period up to December 2013.

Chris Li, founder and CEO of BathEmpire.com, said: “We are delighted to once again be ranked among the fastest growing private companies in Britain.

“To feature in The Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 for the third year running is a phenomenal result, given that it is notoriously difficult for companies to maintain such high growth levels as they increase in size.

“The fact that we continue to achieve such impressive and sustained growth is testament to our commitment to keep delivering superb products at great value with exceptional service whilst still significantly expanding our business.”

BathEmpire.com designs and sources its own product range of bathroom furniture, equipment and accessories to sell directly to the public online.

It has enjoyed rapid expansion since being launched in 2009 after Chris had identified a gap in the online bathroom market whilst selling taps and showers on eBay from his home.

In 2013, BathEmpire.com secured an £8.5m investment by Living Bridge allowing it to more than double the size of its headquarters with a £5m move to Attleborough Fields in Nuneaton.

The relocation has enabled the retailer to expand its range through the introduction of 1,000 new products and in particular, broaden its choice of ceramics and integrated bathroom furniture.

Its growth has resulted in the creation of 100 new jobs over the last 24 months, and the company is now actively recruiting for 20 new positions primarily within its warehouse and customer contact centre.

“In recent years, the focus has been on developing our online presence and the next phase of development will centre on broadening our product range even further and increasing our brand awareness so we become more widely known,” added Chris.

“The challenge to remain in The Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 will be even greater for next year but we will strive for it once again as we are on target for another record sales performance in 2014.”
