£70 million of supply and contracting opportunities on offer in Sheffield
Businesses from in and around Sheffield are invited to find out about £70 million worth of supply and contracting opportunities.
The work will be created at Sheffield Housing Company developments - the second phase of which are scheduled to start later this year.
On Friday 20th March a Meet the Contractor event will be staged by the company’s build partner – Keepmoat – between 08:30 and 14:30 at the Steel Inn Resource Centre, 135 Harborough Avenue, Manor, Sheffield, S2 1QR.
The event provides an opportunity for local businesses to meet the people who procure supplies and services and find out how their companies can get involved in the second phase of development.
Sheffield Housing Company has already commissioned £5.5 million worth of work and services from businesses within the city region. This represented almost 30% of the total investment made in the construction.
Project Director, Tom Fenton, said: “This is a genuine opportunity for businesses in area to apply to get on tender lists for around £70 million worth of work. Involving local companies is a key element of the company’s remit. It was established not only to improve the quality and choice of homes but also to support regeneration through the creation of wealth and reinvestment.”
Sheffield Housing Company, which also includes the city council and Great Places Housing Group, is already constructing 305 homes on three sites and plans to build a further 556 on six more. Over the next 15 years a total of 2,300 homes are planned.
If you have any questions about the event or would like to find out more about the opportunities available, then please telephone 0114 203 7129 or email sheffieldhousingcompany@sheffield.gov.uk
