The state of content marketing for 2015

The future of marketing is paved with content

Spending on content marketing is set to soar in 2015, with 86% of marketers planning to spend the same or more than last year.

According to revealing research from content marketing agency, Wyzowl, businesses are increasing their budget to focus on content rather than advertising.

MD of Wyzowl, Matt Byrom said: “Content marketing is widely regarded as one of the best ways to attract and retain customers, which is why businesses worldwide are regularly releasing their own content.”

There has been an extraordinary shift from traditional advertising to content over the past five years, and today, 75% of marketers say that content is essential for their business.

“Buyers have become extremely media savvy and no longer want to see ads spamming their screens. They want to read interesting content that provides value to their lives, and that’s why content marketing has sky-rocketed.”

Wyzowl surveyed more than 600 respondents from advertising and marketing industries to find out what the state of content marketing is for 2015.

The research also revealed a lot of telling truths about how much of a positive effect content marketing has had on profits.

67% said that content has increased their leads, 64% believe that content has increased their organic traffic and 63% of marketers said that content has increased conversions.

Matt added: “The reason we undertook this research is to find out what the future of content looks like and if it’s working for businesses. It’s safe to say content marketing is not slowing down anytime soon.”
