Restaurant launches Indian Summer Food Festival

AN award-winning restaurant is giving customers the opportunity to experience Indian food as they have never tasted it before.

The new concept in dining combines the irresistible flavours of traditional Indian cooking with the convenience of tapas-sized portions.

Raval Luxury Indian Restaurant’s unique Tandoori-Tapas Nights will begin on Monday, June 1 as part of its Indian Summer Food Festival.

Manager Avi Malik said: “We’re taking the tapas concept and applying it to Indian food cooked in a tandoor. It’s our way of giving a modern twist to an age old tradition.

“Here at Raval we like to think of ourselves as food pioneers…so we thought, why not combine two great cultures to create something entirely new?”

Raval’s tandoori-tapas dishes will be served in the relaxed environment of the restaurant’s bar area between 5:30pm and 7:30pm, with prices starting from £4.95.

And customers visiting on the first day of the month-long promotion – Monday, June 1 – will be presented with a free drink token on arrival.

Mr Malik added: “This is one of a number of events and promotions we’re planning over the coming months to celebrate our Indian Summer Food Festival.

“Customers can keep up to date with our plans by checking our website and Facebook page, which are regularly updated.”

Raval, located just off the Tyne Bridge in Gateshead, was named North East Restaurant of the Year at the prestigious British Curry Awards and has won critical acclaim from numerous high-profile chefs.
