New Liverpool network to support region's exporters
The chambers of commerce and local authorities of the Liverpool City Region have teamed up with the area’s Local Enterprise Partnership and UK Trade & Investment to establish a new network and boost the business community’s exporting capabilities.
Set to start in early October, the Exporters’ Network will aim to help the City Region’s businesses gain a foothold in overseas markets by offering masterclasses, advice and support.
The Liverpool City Region LEP’s executive director, Mark Basnett, said: “Accelerating export growth is vital for the future of the City Region economy which is why we are supporting [the launch event] and the establishment of this network.
“We want all businesses in the City Region involved or interested in exporting, from experienced exporters to first timers, to come together to learn from each other and take advantage of the wide range of expertise and support available to increase exporters.”
He added: “Liverpool was built on global trade and this is a great opportunity to further our global ambitions as a City Region.”
The kick-off event, scheduled for October 1 at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, will feature guest speakers from a number of the region’s exporting businesses, including Liverpool-based Leather Satchel Company, Southport creative services firm 4040 Media and Sigmatex, the technical fabrics manufacturer based in Runcorn.
