QHotels wins top events industry award

Leeds-based QHotels has scooped one of the biggest awards in the events industry, winning the Marketing Team of the Year accolade at the Meetings Industry Marketing Awards (MIMA).

The annual awards recognise the UK’s best marketing campaigns in the events industry and attract entries from around the UK and internationally.

Awarded the overall title of best marketing team, QHotels wowed the heavyweight judging panel with its imaginative and creative marketing campaigns designed to inspire its customers and enhance the service at its 27 hotels across the UK, including The Queens and Oulton Hall in Leeds, Aldwark Manor in York and Tankersley Manor near Sheffield.

QHotels Marketing Director, Claire Rowland, said: “The MIMAs celebrate the very best of the meetings and events industry and it’s an honour to see QHotels up there with the industry’s biggest names. It was extremely strong competition, so we are absolutely thrilled to have won the big award of the evening.

“We’re continually striving to push the boundaries with new, imaginative ways to inspire our customers and enhance their experience of QHotels. The win is testament to the creativity and expertise of our team and we hope our campaigns will continue to engage and excite the industry.”

Campaigns which helped the AA Hotel Group of the Year 2014/15 claim the title, included: ‘Brainwaves’, which gains insight from event organisers and delegates by using EEG headsets; ‘The Science of The Perfect Pitch’, which shared tips from Tony Blair’s former speechwriter, and a ‘Happiness Barometer’, which used iPads to collect guest feedback on their mood on check-in and check-out.
