EMS unveils UKTI Exporting is GREAT roadshow
Event Marketing Solutions (EMS) has unveiled the Exporting is GREAT roadshow truck, the Export Hub, designed to help the government get UK SMEs face-to-face with live export opportunities.
Exporting is GREAT is the government’s most ambitious export initiative ever. It aims to inspire and support 100,000 additional UK exporters to sell their goods and services overseas by 2020.
Supporting the five-year Exporting is GREAT initiative, the roadshow will travel the length and breadth of the UK to give face-to-face support and guidance to first-time exporters, using the latest technology to connect businesses with export opportunities.
EMS – itself an exporting success story - fitted out its versatile Voyager 5 vehicle with a vast central space designed to be flexible with the opportunity to hold seminars or more informal networking events. Two meeting rooms offer more private areas for consultations with specialist advisors and refreshment facilities to ensure a comfortable environment. Large screens feature throughout the truck promoting the export opportunities available and a Skype facility enables businesses to take immediate action.
As the Export Hub makes its way around the UK, regional staff from UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), and Exporting is GREAT partners, which include banks, logistics firms and technology brands, will use the truck to engage and support companies at a local level. EMS will support, recommending locations, managing the logistics and schedule. Sites will include large trade shows, events, business parks and hotels.
EMS won the contract to design the Export Hub and manage the 12-month Exporting is GREAT roadshow following a three-way pitch in September.
Dr Catherine Raines FRSA, Chief Executive of UKTI said: “The Export Hub will provide companies with support and advice to help them succeed in global markets. Businesses will also be able to access the live export opportunities on www.exportingisgreat.gov.uk and speak with overseas contacts using the onboard technology provided by our partners BT and Microsoft. EMS has ensured the design of the truck is practical and perfectly fits the Exporting is GREAT brand, giving visitors the best experience possible.”
Gemma Edney, Head of Client Services at EMS said: “The Exporting is GREAT Export Hub will be working its way across the UK directly engaging with would-be exporters, encouraging them to take the next step to selling overseas. It was vital that the external graphics were bold and reflective of the core visuals, so it can act as a mobile billboard and attract people to come on board.
“The interior is clean and crisp and highly versatile, so that the regional teams can adapt the space for their needs, rotating tender information so that is relevant to their audience. We are logistics specialists and will collaborate with Exporting is GREAT to ensure roadshow sites are practical, while providing the maximum opportunity for footfall.
“As a UK exporting business we are extremely proud to be working with the government on this fantastic project.”
