Magical Leeds Launches Reindeer Cam
VisitLeeds and Leeds Business Improvement District (BID) have launched Reindeer Cam a new campaign video that sees a tour of Leeds from the perspective of the city’s most famous festive visitors.
Commissioned to accompany the official winter tourism campaign, Magical Leeds, Reindeer Cam has been produced to show off Leeds’ brilliant visitor offering and encourage more people to stay for longer breaks in the city over the winter season.
The new video sees Rudolph and friends take a journey across Leeds’ landmark sites and buildings, flying inside and outside of some of the city’s wonderful attractions including Trinity Leeds, Victoria Quarter and Henry Moore Institute, while onlookers gaze in amazement.
Following the official premiere at the 2015 Leeds Lights Switch-On, the video will be used as part of an integrated marketing campaign, including social media, pre-roll advertising and PR, as well as being shown on big screens across the city.
Reindeer Cam is a continuation of the city’s 2014 Reindeer Trail, which was a bespoke collection of beautifully decorated reindeer statues across the city. Back for 2015, each one will be standing proudly in some of Magical Leeds’ partners’ locations, as well as real reindeer at Leeds Kirkgate Market and The Merrion Centre.
Andrew Cooper, Chief executive of the Leeds BID, said: “We’re confident that Reindeer Cam, and the overall Magical Leeds campaign, showcases the best of Leeds, with attractions perfect for families, couples or friends, by highlighting the unique experiences on offer within the city. Through our major investment in this campaign, we hope that we can encourage even more people to give Leeds the attention it deserves.”
Councillor Judith Blake, Leader of Leeds City Council, added: “The video brilliantly summarises the atmosphere in the city over the festive season, and pays attention to Leeds’ winter traditions, such as the reindeer trail, that visitors have loved in the past. The support from our partners across all critical sectors of the campaign, including their involvement in Reindeer Cam, has been outstanding.”
The video was produced by Magical Leeds’ marketing agency Leeds-based Aberfield Communications, as well as video production company Feature Media and drone operators BB Stratus.
