London marketing agencies pair up for 2016 Olympic Games work in Rio

Marketing agency RedTorch has announced a partnership with Anglo-Brazilian PR and marketing communications agency Sherlock Communications, that will see the pair working together for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

London-based RedTorch, which has experience in marketing campaigns for niche sports, will take advantage of Sherlock’s knowledge of the Brazilian market to develop communications strategies and campaigns for its clients.

Sherlock, which counts Pepsico and the BBC amongst its list of former clients, has offices São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, along with its base in London.

Commenting on the agreement, Jonny Murch, Managing Director of RedTorch, said: “Our partnership with Sherlock allows us to offer our clients and other brands the opportunity to create and activate communications campaigns in Brazil (and worldwide) in the lead up to, during, and after the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

“We’re confident that with our understanding of and connections across international sport, combined with Sherlock’s knowledge of the local Brazilian market, we can provide creative and effective communications support.”

Alasdair Townsend, Managing Partner of Sherlock Communications, added: “With a fusion of British methodology and Brazilian creativity, our expert team on the ground in Brazil is ready to support companies with their Rio 2016 activation plans.

“Our insight into the cultural and operational challenges of working in Brazil, coupled with RedTorch’s understanding of international sport, will enable us to deliver both local and global campaigns linked to the world’s biggest sports event in 2016.”
