Advanced showcases integrated warehouse management system at IntraLogisteX
Advanced Business Solutions (Advanced) will be showcasing its warehouse management system (WMS), including the associated mobile technology, such as hand held terminals, at IntraLogisteX on 16 and 17 March 2016 at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry. The event brings together logistics professionals keen to find out more about the solutions available to tackle the challenges facing the industry.
One of those challenges is a growing skills gap, highlighted in a report by Capgemini, which also found that 79% of third-party logistics companies (3PLs) are unprepared for the impact this could have on their supply chain.
According to a recent white paper commissioned by Advanced, many logistics leaders recognise that investing in technology can help to plug this gap by enabling them to continue meeting demand without increasing headcount – yet only about 30% of 3PLs are using cutting edge technologies.
Advanced’s team will be on stand 85 to discuss how its technology can streamline operations and support businesses to effectively manage skills shortages. The software they will be demonstrating won the silver prize for the ‘IT and Software: Warehouse Management and CRM’ category at the IntraLogistics Awards, held at last year’s event.
This was in recognition of the benefits its OpenWMS and OpenDashboards software have delivered to 3PL company DSV Solutions.
OpenWMS is designed for both 3PL and owner operators. It is used by businesses operating in a variety of industries and as well as the core warehouse management solution, it can include additional modules, such as the customer web portal and the 3PL billing module. Customers using OpenWMS include DSV Solutions, Port of Tyne, RIF Logistics and Dimensions Clothing.
OpenDashboards enables companies to easily monitor their Key Performance Indicators using real-time data via graphical dashboard displays. Both solutions seamlessly integrate with other business systems.
Janette Martin, Managing Director, Advanced Business Solutions (Commercial & Channel), says, “Technology can streamline the entire end-to-end supply chain, automating processes, delivering greater performance visibility and tangible efficiencies, which are crucial in an industry that operates within tight margins.
“Quality solutions can support logistics companies to future-proof their business by providing more value-added services to maximise profitability and attract new customers, giving them the edge in such a competitive market.”
