Magic number seven for Blakedale and Chevron

Lancashire-based self-drive hire specialist, Blakedale has strengthened its successful relationship with leading Traffic Management business Chevron by delivering seven new Impact Protection Vehicles to its long-standing customer of seven years.

Chevron has a team of 500 Traffic Management Operatives carrying out vital but dangerous work on the nation’s roads and with the help of Blakedale’s Impact Protection Vehicles they have an unrivalled record for workforce safety.

Chevron first teamed up with Blakedale seven years ago hiring a few trucks and welfare units where necessary. Today they have a number of vehicles on hire from the company, ranging from bespoke 3.5 tonne Traffic Management Vehicles to brand new state-of-the-art Impact Protection Vehicles.

Chevron’s Director, Mark Fleckner said: “For us safety is paramount, we operate nationwide on a variety of projects and having the flexibility to hire specialist Impact Protection Vehicles from Blakedale that align with our specification is an ideal way to meet our needs.”

Sales Director at Blakedale, Dave Staiano said: “Recently we have developed a more collaborative relationship with Chevron so we have a comprehensive understanding of what they need from the vehicles. They have vast, first hand experience of operating Traffic Management Vehicles in the high pressure and often, hazardous road network environment.

“Chevron are very generous in sharing this knowledge and we are happy to learn from their experience to make our vehicles as user friendly and safe as possible.”

Mark added: “We have built up a really successful working relationship and we know we can always rely on the team at Blakedale for support, they are a very customer focussed business.

“Blakedale’s vehicles are absolutely first class, and the new fleet has been personalised to meet our exact requirements from the sign racks, cone wells and under body storage through to the latest technology in the cab including CCTV, reverse alarms and work lights.”

Over the last 24 months, Blakedale has invested over £2M in upgrading its fleet to ensure loyal hire customers like Chevron continue to benefit from the latest and most reliable vehicles to help make their jobs easier and safer.

In addition to Impact Protection Vehicles Blakedale also hire out self contained Mobile Welfare Vans and specialise in marker posts and hazard delineator poles. The team of 15 office and engineering staff operate from their Mill Lane head office in Chorley.
